A Giving Tribute on Song for Hospice

Staff at A Giving Tribute raised £139 for Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice by dressing up as Santa at a music concert.

The ‘Girls with Guitars’ event held at The Farnham Maltings on 14 December broke box office records for such an evening, with 100 in attendance, some travelling from as far afield as Devon to hear local pop country singer/songwriter ‘Carelle’ perform.

“When I heard that Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice’s ‘Wear a Santa Suit for a Day’ coincided with the concert by Carelle, I felt that this would be a superb opportunity to raise money for them,” explains A Giving Tribute’s Director, Liz Mowatt. “Carelle has a large following so we were expecting a good turn out. As Carelle is my daughter, I did have to ask her if it would embarrass her if my colleague Josh Wood and I dressed up as Santa, but she was delighted with the initiative and only too happy to help.

“The Hospice is held in very high regard by local people as evidenced by their generosity on the evening, particularly so close to Christmas,” continues Liz.
