Classic car fans raise hospice cash
Over the last 10 years the show has grown and now attracts a wide range of veteran, vintage and classic cars, motorcycles, scooters, military and commercial vehicles. The show boasts an auto jumble, trade stalls, live music, a bar and hot food.
Community & Events Fundraising Manager at Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice Ruth Scammell said: “We’d like to say a huge thank-you to members of the White Dove Committee, our volunteers and people who exhibited or attended on the day. We are also very grateful to the sponsors of the event: Headley Insurance Services Ltd, Hyundai Normandy Garage, Thorne-Leggett Funeral Directors and Racing Green Cars.”
The money raised has helped fund a new minibus which is in daily use, collecting patients from home and bringing them to and from the Hospice.
Sarah Brocklebank, Chief Executive of Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice said: “We rely on the support of our local community to help raise the £15,000 a day the Hospice needs so we are really grateful to all those involved in the show.”
