Please help with our Patients at Home Appeal
Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice is a light in those dark moments for people affected by a terminal illness such as cancer, heart, lung or neurological disease. Renowned for the quality of our care, compassion and smiles, we are passionate about offering the best care to our patients and their families.
Each and every day we support over 140 patients, carers and relatives.
When asked the question, most people would prefer to be cared for in their own home, so in 2011 we introduced a small Hospice Care at Home Service with the aim of providing our community with the care they need, where they want it most – at home. This has been an incredible success.
So our vision for this year and beyond is to expand this service and, with the help of our supporters, we hope to build the team of specialists we need to provide this important care. We firmly believe in offering a package of care that satisfies both the patient’s choice and their clinical needs.
However, as we only receive 12% of our funding from the NHS, we are totally reliant on the generosity of our local community to enable us to offer excellent care and support... living in tough economic times, every donation becomes even more important.
We need to raise £325,000 to fund this service each year.
So could you make a one-off donation, or commit to giving just £10, £20, £30... a month (or whatever you can afford), to make a real difference at a critical time in our patients’ lives?
