Runners are being urged to sign up for this year’s Brighton Marathon to help raise money forPhyllis Tuckwell Hospice.

The Farnham-based charity has issued an appeal for people to take part in the fourth annual race taking place on 14 April 2013.

The Hospice provides Specialist Palliative Care to adult patients and their families living with life limiting illnesses inWest Surreyand North East Hampshire. Every day it supports over 140 patients and carers in their own homes, in the community and at the Hospice. All its services are free of charge to patients and their families, but they need to raise over £15,000 a day to offer such an exceptional standard of clinical care and support.

Gemma Craig, Community & Events Fundraising Assistant said: “Running for a charity gives you additional motivation. It helps you to get through your training on those long winter nights, and knowing your effort has made a valuable contribution to a worthwhile cause increases personal satisfaction.”
