Local Restaurateur raises much needed funds for Hospice

29 January, 2013

VillaBiancaRestaurantin Frimley, owned by Raff Gambardella and partners again held their annual charity Golf Day in aid of Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice, raising an incredible £3,395. It was a fantastic day held at Camberley Heath Golf Club followed by evening dinner at Villa Bianca to raise much need funds to help the Hospice support and care for adult patients living with a terminal illness.

Ruth Scammell, Community & Events Fundraising Manager at Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice said: “We are so grateful to Villa Bianca for their loyal support of the Hospice. It is wonderful that their charity Golf Day is now in its 26th year, and we are extremely appreciative that the Hospice has been the beneficiary for the last 19 years. It is only through the faithful support of events like this that we are able to raise the £15,000 a day needed to provide specialist care to 140 patients and their families free of charge each and every day.”

Supporter Allan Smith, who attends the golf day each year, said: “It is always a brilliant day, and the effort and generosity of Raff and his team both in organising the day and in the wonderful meal that follows at their restaurant afterwards is why this event is such a success.”
