“It was a great occasion with much pomp and ceremony.” said Dr Guy.
Dr Guy has been a doctor at the Hospice for 20 years and has chaired the charity Hospice Home Support from its creation in 1993. Hospice Home Support provides training for volunteers and coordinates their support for patients towards the end of life and their carers.
Dr Guy said: “Prince Charles was genuinely interested in the Hospice and the work of Hospice Home Support. He clearly understood the difficulty of finding sufficient funding for the Hospice Movement and was eager to understand how volunteering could contribute to the essential support of patients and their families.”
