Acts announced for Picnic to Music in the Park

Status Quo and Queen tribute bands plus eight top acts from The Magic of Motown will be performing at Farnborough’s biggest music event in the summer.
Picnic to Music in the Park will take place on 13 and 14 July at the King George V Playing Fields, with 100% of the profits going to Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice in Farnham.
On Saturday, entertainment will be provided by two of theUK’s top tribute bands. Counterfeit Quo, theUK’s longest running Quo tribute act, will be celebrating four decades of music. Killer Queen, dubbed the most authentic Queen tribute band, will then be playing all of the group’s best-loved hits.
On Sunday, music comes from The Magic of Motown. Fresh from sell-out shows inLondon’s O2, the all-star cast will be recreating the harmonies, slick moves and stylish looks of the legendaryDetroitsound. Hits from the Four Tops, Temptations, Supremes and Stevie Wonder, amongst others, will be performed.
The event, kindly organised by the Rotary Club of Farnborough, has taken place every other year since 2001. In 2011 alone the event raised in excess of £40,000 forPhyllis Tuckwell Hospice.
Gates open at 5pm and the show begins at 7.30pm. Both evenings will end with a fireworks finale. Refreshments will be available but bring your own picnic.
Early bird tickets bought before 31 May are £17, £20 if bought after that but before the event, and £30 if bought on the day.
