Therapy Services Team
Promoting independence and enhancing quality of life
During the past year, Theresa Hopwood, Occupational therapist, has joined us – a most welcome addition to the Therapy Services Team. This provides our patients with access to further specialist help to promote independence and enhance their quality of life. Increasing numbers of patients are now being admitted for symptom control and rehabilitation and the discharge rate has risen above 30%.

As a team, we felt that it was important to provide support for the carers and therefore, together with other members of the multi-disciplinary team, we have started a Carers Support Group. As from September, this group will be meeting on the second Thursday of every month; it will offer carers the opportunity to meet others in the same position and to access different areas of support and advice.
