Members of the Walsh Junior School Choir
came once again to our annual Garden Fete at Farnham Castle on May 17th
2003 and sang a selection of their songs.
Amongst
those listening were the Mayor of Farnham (pictured) and trustees,
staff, volunteers and supporters of the hospice. The children were led
by Mrs Anita Watts, Headteacher and accompanied by Mr Trevor Aldridge.

Children
from Walsh Junior School visited the hospice again on December 17th and
sang a selection of carols for patients and staff in Day Care. The
children presented Claire Walker with £150 raised at their own carol
concerts and enjoyed some welcome refreshments before going back to
school.
The
children came with Mrs Watts, Headmistress, Miss Preston, Mr Aldridge
and Mrs Ratcliffe who had also brought the stamps and foreign coins that
the children have been collecting this term for the hospice. |

PUPILS SING FOR HOSPICE
Walsh CE Junior School enjoyed a
day out at Farnham Castle when they came to sing at the Phyllis Tuckwell
Garden Fete. The pupils sang songs from their repertoire and entertained the
crowds, ably led by their headmistress Mrs Watts and accompanied by Mr
Aldridge.

PUPILS SING FOR HOSPICE PATIENTS
Patients attending Day Care at the Phyllis
Tuckwell Hospice were given a special treat this month when ten pupils from
Walsh CE Junior School in Ash visited and performed songs from their
Christmas performance.
The children, who had also rehearsed a dance to
entertain the nurses and patients, presented a cheque for £250 raised at
their school Christmas concert, to Claire Walker, Community Fundraiser for
the Hospice.

Walsh Juniors already have strong links with the
Hospice. Last year children learnt their tables and earned sponsorship for
getting their sums right! This year the pupils are looking forward to
learning more about the Phyllis Tuckwell and have invited members of staff
to come to school and talk about their work and the school choir has also
agreed to sing at the Hospice’s traditional Garden Fete in May.
