Did you receive unwanted gifts this Christmas?

Were you showered with gifts this Christmas but don’t have room for them? Maybe you were lucky enough to receive the same present twice? Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice is appealing to anyone who received unwanted gifts in 2011 to donate them to their local Hospice charity shop so they can raise much needed money to help care for people affected by terminal illnesses in Aldershot, Ash, Camberley, Cranleigh, Farnham, Farnborough, Fleet, Guildford, Haslemere and all of the towns and villages in between.

The charity’s 13 shops can accept anything from clothes to collectables, toiletries to toys, DVDs to jewellery and much, much more. If you treated yourself to some new furniture over the festive period the Hospice’s Furniture Showroom and Donation centre can even arrange free inspection and collection of unwanted items of furniture.

“I would like to thank everyone who donated unwanted items to our 13 shops in 2011,” says Peter Foxton, Head of Retail at Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice. “2011 was a tough year for the Hospice particularly after a fire forced us to shut our shop in Fleet for almost six months, which inevitably affected our ability to raise the £15,000 we need everyday to keep the Hospice open. This means we are still in desperate need of stock donations, especially at this time of year.”
