Give As You Earn

Making payday count through a Give As You Earn (GAYE) scheme is an increasingly popular and extremely tax-efficient way to raise money for the Hospice.

Why is it so good?

Because it is tax free. Deductions are made from gross pay, and instead of having to sign a Gift Aid form to enable us to claim back the tax, the tax is added on to your donation. Simple and effective!

For example:

Pledge Cost to individual tax payer (22%) Cost to individual tax payer (40%)
£5 £3.90 £3
£10 £7.80 £6
£15 £11.70 £9

Who can do it?

Anyone whose pay or pension is taxed through PAYE and whose employer offers a Payroll Giving scheme. And if yours doesn’t and you’d like them to, why not ask them to contact us – it’s easy to set up!

Why should a company offer a Payroll Giving scheme?

Quick and easy to set-up and administer, Payroll Giving is a great way for you to demonstrate commitment to the causes that your employees care about. It can also aid retention and recruitment of staff, and enable you to generate a sustainable income stream to charities, demonstrating your commitment to being a socially responsible employer.
