CHARITY SHOW AT DANCE SCHOOL
The Camberley based
Elmhurst, The School For Dance, will be hosting its final charity
performance – The Elmhurst Gala Summer Show - on Wednesday July 16 2003
in aid of the Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice. The school is relocating
to the Midlands next year and it is appropriate that its last charity show
is in aid of a local cause that has an effect on all members of the
community.
The organisers of the
event are aiming to build on last year’s success and the show will feature a
mixture of talent provided by the Elmhurst students. Also included in the
admission price of £20 is a champagne reception, a buffet supper and wine.
A special guest of the
evening will be Fiona Castle, widow of entertainer Roy who died of cancer in
1994. Fiona is keen to advocate the importance of hospices within the local
community. A former Elmhurst pupil between 1949 and 1957, Fiona was also
Head Girl and is now a Governor of the school.
The Phyllis Tuckwell
Hospice relies almost totally on the local community for its funding and
currently needs £8,000 a day to provide expert care for patients throughout
West Surrey and North East Hampshire suffering from life limiting illnesses
such as cancer.
The event starts at
6.30pm and tickets for what will be a memorable evening are available from
the hospice by contacting Claire Walker on 01252 729433 or via the website
www.phyllistuckwellhospice.org.uk
