Job Purpose:

To effectively deal with the transportation of all donated and sold goods (including items of furniture) and for providing and maintaining first class service to customers and other team members.

Responsibilities 

  • Maintain the exterior and interior condition of the delivery vans and for advising your line manager of any defects.
  • Assist in the sorting, storage and disposal of donated goods at the Hospice and in the shops.
  • Assist in bagging, weighing, storage and disposal of rags at the Hospice.
  • Deal with the removal of all non-saleable items to authorised salvage sites from the Hospice and the shops.
  • Deal with the transfer of goods to and from the Hospice and to and from the shops.
  • Deal with the distribution and collection of house bag drops.
  • Advise and assist with shops maintenance issues.
  • To be accountable for the security at all times of the delivery vans and for the security of the Hospice stock.
  • Assist in the organisation of delivery/collection schedules and for the efficient use of route planning to ensure for effective use of time.
  • At all times present oneself in a professional manner when collecting/delivering goods to customers and the shop team.
  • At all times comply with all PTH policies and regulations and any amendments that that from time to time will be required.
