PHYLLIS TUCKWELL HOSPICE LIVING APPEAL - THE NEXT STEP

In April 2006, the Hospice sadly had to close four of its 18 beds as the result of a significant drop in legacy income and general donations. The Living Appeal was launched to raise awareness of our need for support. Thanks to our generous community, we were delighted to re-open two of the four beds. We are continuing the Living Appeal in the hope of soon being able to re-open the remaining beds. We do, however, need your continuing support to achieve this so please take a moment to explore the site and see how you can get involved.

The Hospice cares for over 100 patients, their families and carers every day. This could be as an In-Patient, attending our Day Hospice or being cared for at home by the CNS team and counsellors. Only 16% of our funding comes from the NHS even though most of our patients are referred to us by them.

All our services are provided free of charge.

It costs us £10,000 a day, but we cannot do this without your help.

This is how your regular gift could help us to keep our services for the many hundreds of people like Ann, Sally, Margaret and Harry that we support each and every day.

This is how your gift could help us

£10 a month could help us to re-open two of the beds and keep them open

£7 a month could help fund a Community Nurse Specialist home visit
£5 a month could pay towards a day of care for a patient in Day Hospice
£2 a month could help provide bereavement support to adults and children
