Swine Flu - H1N1 flu virus

Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice is working closely with local hospitals and Surrey PCT to ensure that there is a coordinated approach across Surrey. There are currently no confirmed cases of swine flu in Surrey, but we are monitoring the situation closely.  

The key message from the Department of Health is to ensure appropriate hygiene. In light of this, the following advice has been issued to all Hospice staff:

1. Wash your hands regularly - this reduces the risk of you transferring any kind of infection.


2. 'Catch it, bin it, kill it' - i.e. cover your mouth and nose when coughing or sneezing into a tissue and then dispose of it carefully.

All visitors to the Hospice are being encouraged to do the same.
