LEAVING A GIFT IN YOUR WILL
TO THE HOSPICE
Safeguarding the Future
in the 25 years that the Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice has
been caring for local people, it has touched the lives of nearly all of us
who live in this area.
With one in three people
suffering from cancer at some point in their lives, and one in four dying
from it, the Hospice’s services are a vital part of the local healthcare
infrastructure, yet the NHS covers only 16% of our costs. The Phyllis
Tuckwell Hospice relies on local individuals and organisations for support
to help raise a total of £3.5 million a year – that’s £10,000 a day – to
cover our day-to-day running costs.
You may know someone or heard of someone - perhaps a
friend, a colleague, a neighbour or a relative - who has been cared for by
the Hospice. You probably know what a difference the Hospice can make to
the lives of people facing the end of life, whether as a patient or a
carer. Perhaps you don’t know how much the Hospice relies on the gifts that
people leave to the Hospice in their Wills. Nearly one third of our income
is from legacies. Without this money, we could not provide the very best
care for all the local people who really need us.
Most of us want to make sure that when we die our family
and loved ones come first and are financially secure. After making sure
they are looked after in your Will, leaving a gift to the Phyllis Tuckwell
Hospice is a wonderful way to help safeguard this service for future
generations of local people.
If you have already included the Hospice in your Will –
thank you on behalf of the future generations of patients, carers,
volunteers and staff at the Hospice.
