Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice is hoping its brand new Step It Up campaign will inspire and unite the local community to go just that little bit further in support of the Hospice's Living Appeal. We're thrilled that Roger Black is supporting the campaign, which not only aims to raise money for the Hospice but also encourages greater awareness of personal fitness within the community.
 

"The Hospice are organising a selection of walking and running events in 2008 and we're hoping we can take a combined community total of 50 million steps!" Roger Black says. "If every one of these steps is sponsored, we will be able to achieve the final phase target of the Living Appeal. The average person takes 3,000 to 5,000 steps every day, but the target to remain healthy and keep in shape is 10,000 daily steps - taking part in the Step It Up programme will not only help to support the Living Appeal, it could also help to boost your fitness level too!"

STEPS UNDER THE STARS: a night to remember
Our flagship event for Step It Up is our first ever women-only midnight sponsored walk, Steps Under The Stars. We are inviting you to walk in memory of a loved one on this beautiful route between Guildford and Farnham on Saturday 20 September. To cater for all ages and abilities, you can choose from two challenges: The Gold Star is the complete ten-mile route from Guildford to Farnham.
