 THE RUSHMOOR RUMBLE 2

Fans of Aldershot Town FC and Farnborough Town FC will once again get their chance to do battle on the cricket pitch with the return of "The Rushmoor Rumble" on Sunday 3rd September 2006.

The Rushmoor Rumble 2, sponsored by Wellington Property Services of Aldershot and Ash Vale, in aid of the Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice, will see Shots supporters take on Boro Supporters in a 30-over a side cricket match at Aldershot Cricket Club for the second year in succession.

Last year's event was a close fought affair, with the Aldershot Town FC XI winning the match on the very last ball. A result the boys from across the Borough will be keen to avenge this time round. The day also saw an auction in the evening of signed merchandise from both sides as well as County cricket tickets, and rose in excess of £1,500 for the Hospice.

This year's match will see local footballing heroes Jason Chewins and Mark Butler turn out for the Shots, with Jamie Horton and Colin Fielder donning the pads for the Boro'.

Supporters who wish to participate are invited to bid for their place on the team, by way of a pledged donation of money for the Hospice. The minimum pledge is £20, and the ten highest bidders from each set of supporters will be invited to play in the event alongside the footballing legends.

Cricketing ability is not important, and participants will enjoy the same amount of playing time, in what promises to be another great day of fun for all involved. Both football clubs are supporting the event, with Chairmen, Managers and Players hoping to attend during the day.

Bids can be submitted either by post, to "The Rushmoor Rumble", c/o 101 Roberts Road, Aldershot, Hampshire, GU12 4RB, or by email to [email protected].

All bids must be submitted by midnight Monday 28th August, and the successful supporters will be contacted after the bidding has closed. All bids should include the side they wish to play for, the sum being pledged, name and address, contact telephone number and where possible an email address.

Anyone wanting further information can contact the organisers via the pledge addresses.
