LOCAL PRINTERS QUOTE TO SUPPORT THE HOSPICE

Local printers DC Print and Design have come up with a novel way to help the Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice.  For every quote they provide to local businesses in the GU postcode area, they will make a £1 donation to the Hospice.  And for every quote that is converted to an order, the Hospice will receive another £10.

Business Development Manager Adrian Domagala comments, “Our business has some ambitious growth plans and we would like to see our growth bring benefit to a great local charity.  This initiative makes sense for us and helps the Hospice too.”

“We are delighted that DC Print and Design has chosen to support us in this way and it would be wonderful to see benefits for both sides to materialise from this Cause Related Marketing initiative.  Both the Hospice and DC Print and Design will be trying hard to make sure that donations from quotes and orders are maximised.”

The Hospice hopes to promote this initiative when approaching local businesses about Payroll Giving.  “The Government’s new incentives to attract small and medium-sized enterprises to start up Payroll Giving will help us to build up support from these companies in the local area.  There are over 3000 companies in the GU postcode area with 1-50 employees and both DC Print and Design and the Hospice would like to get to know them better,” says Hospice Fundraising Manager Kate Chernyshov.

DC Print and Design Limited, established for over 13 years offer unrivalled creativity with exceptional levels of service utilising a young creative team of designers and account executives.   Digital and lithographic print run side by side at DC.   Business cards to multi page brochures, single colour to full process colour.   Investment in the latest technology means that we can offer the complete print and finishing service without compromise.     DC offer you quality and on time delivery at an affordable price.    Talk to DC today to find out more – tel 01252 714549, or visit www.dcprint.co.uk .

LOGAN’S RUN PASSES THE TEST FOR HOSPICE

Over 200 competitors entered the 2005 Logan’s Run staged at Rushmoor Arena on Sunday morning. The event, sponsored by Phileas Fogg Travel Group, is in aid of the Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice and was well supported by a host of local sporting clubs and organisations.

Members of the Logan Family travelled the length and breadth of the country to enter the race; the run is named after Ian Logan who sadly passed away in 1997 aged just 41 years.

The Family Fun Run, just short of a mile, attracted youngsters, parents, grand parents and even the family pet too. The winning boy was 14 year old Joe Male from Guildford.  Alexandra  Kelly, aged 11  from Hawley won the Female Race.

The main 4 mile run was won by Aldershot based Andy Woodcock in a time of 23 mins 26 seconds. Just behind Andy was Aldershot, Farnham and District AC member James Wood with (23:27) with Andrew Hislop (Farnborough) in third place (24:59).

For the second successive year Alison Queen of Farnham won the Female race in 29 mins 28 secs. Helen Davy of Ash was second (29:54) and third was Farnham’s Angela Epps (29:26) Both winners received voucher prizes donated by Marks and Spencers Aldershot.

The  “Football Club Club Challenge” saw an outright victory for Aldershot Town record appearance holder Jason Chewins. Jason was wearing the shirt of his current club, Havant and Waterlooville and completed in a time of 26:31. There was also representation from Sandhurst Town (Matthew Pratt). Aldershot Town Coach Martin Kuhl represented his current club whilst record goal scorer Mark Butler also completed the course wearing the shirt of Ashford Town (Middlesex) where he is now Manager.

Rushmoor Leisure’s Team retained the Company/Club Challenge Trophy with The Plodders in second place.

Hospice Community Fundraiser Graham Brookland said “It was a terrific morning with  everybody seeming to enjoy themselves. We had the largest amount of late registrations in the history of the event too which was great. The fact that it was a  sunny day was a real bonus. It was great to see many new faces too and we are grateful to everybody that supported the day especially Phileas Fogg Travel Group who sponsored the event yet again. The Hospice benefits greatly from the Logan’s Run and it has become such an important and enjoyable part of our calendar”.

All the prizes were presented by the Mayor and Mayoress of Rushmoor ( Colin and Rosemary Balchin ) and Lynne Whelan of Phileas Fogg Travel Group.

The event would not have been possible without the support of  Phileas Fogg Travel for their sponsorship, Marks and Spencers (Aldershot and Woking branches), Aldershot, Farnham and District Athletics Club, Rushmoor Borough Council, Cannons Health Club (Weybourne) and Garrison Radio.
