SUPPORT THE
PHYLLIS TUCKWELL HOSPICE RECYCLING
APPEAL
Every year the Phyllis
Tuckwell Hospice makes more than £20,000 from recycling other people's
waste. Help us to raise more money - here's how
NEWSPAPERS
Please bring your newspapers to the Hospice for recycling. You can put them
in a carrier bag or tie them up with string; all papers should be left in
the newspaper shed at the Hospice (to the left of Reception). The shed is
regularly emptied by volunteer ‘paperchasers’ who stack the papers in the
large metal containers, which are emptied weekly.
Please note: We cannot recycle
pink pages (such as the Financial Times) or glossy magazines.
OFFICE PAPER
Please bring your used white office paper (not coloured, nor shredded
please) to the Hospice and leave it in the newspaper shed (see above).
It is helpful if the paper is brought in boxes that stationery suppliers use
for reams of paper. The office paper is regularly sorted by a dedicated
volunteer and sent for recycling monthly.
DRINKS CANS AND FOIL
Please bring your aluminium drinks cans and clean used foil to the Hospice
or straight to the recycling yard (who donate all proceeds to the Hospice if
you let them know it’s for us):

MOBILE TELEPHONES
Please bring used mobile phone handsets to the Hospice. We send them to a
company that pays up to £5 per phone and then reconditions the phones and
sells them on.
STAMPS
In addition to albums and collections we are happy to receive all individual
stamps from first class upwards (including foreign). We accept stamps in our
eleven shops throughout the community and also at the Hospice itself. We
hope you are able to help support this project.
PRINTER CARTRIDGES
We are looking at a new system for recycling your printer cartridges and
will add this information to the website shortly. Currently we do not have
the facility to recycle these.
